Halloween Metal

As Halloween looms nearer, it’s time for us Rockers and Metalers to take control and remind everyone that OUR music is the best fit here. We love Halloween but sometime the music can be a bit lame.  You’ll need something with a little more BITE. Heavy metal and Halloween go hand in hand.

Many metal songs are Halloween-appropriate, filled with occult imagery and spattered with blood. The genre revels in not just horror and morbid subject matters, but also that Addams Family-ish enjoyment of outsider status.

Whether with ambient soundtracks to trick-or-treating or raucous anthems for the celebration of Samhain, the songs in our Playlist  below pay worthy tribute to the holiest day of the year for all those creeps, weirdos, and monsters.

The retro aesthetics and horror film morbidity combine with heavy music’s power in an explosion of skulls, bats, ghouls, monsters, witchcraft and raised blades dripping with blood. Yum.

As a metal and rock fan, your music interests are way deeper than everyone else’s and this time of year we get to show it. At Halloween you also get to be whoever you want and you should feel free to go for it. Big time.

I’ve been curating this list over many years now and imagine its one of the most comprehensive Halloween playlists out there. I selected on the basis of how well the track distills the spirit of All Hallows’ Eve.
